Welcome to the Ascension Catholic High School Counseling Department home page.  The guidance counselor is Ms. Judie Martinez, who has served as counselor at Ascension Catholic since 2003.  Ms. Martinez is responsible for personal, academic and career counseling.  She also coordinates, administers and interprets tests, such as the PLAN, PSAT and ACT.

The Guidance Department is a service department which:

• Provides assistance to the entire Ascension Catholic High School Community – students, teachers, parents, administrators and feeder schools.
• Acts as liaison between school and various organizations, agencies and groups.
• Words with students in areas of academics, personal-social concerns and educational/vocational planning.
• Sees students individually and in small groups both at the student’s initiation and at the counselor’s initiation
• Hosts representatives from colleges, universities, technical schools, and armed services who are available for consultation by students.
• Offers students the opportunity to form a confidential bond with a counselor professionally trained to help high school aged youth navigate adolescence.
• Assists school in building community within a given class and within the school.
• Assists students in maximizing potential for their present and future growth.
