Purple
and Gold ClubThe
Purple and Gold Club has been a vital part
of the Ascension Catholic Athletic Program
for many years. Its primary function
is to provide support for all athletic
programs at both the high school and
middle school levels. The members of
the club are mainly parents of Ascension
Catholic Student Athletes, but the
organization would like to invite anyone
who is interested in supporting and
promoting Ascension Catholic's athletic
programs to join.
The
Purple and Gold Club meets on the second
Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm in the
St. Francis Church Hall, and reminders of
the meetings appear in the monthly school
newsletter or calendar. Yearly dues
are $25 per family. A meal is served
at a cost of $5 with beverages $1
each. Reports from the club
treasurer, school principals, athletic
directors, and individual coaches follow
the meal. New business and
fundraising options are discussed in an
open forum.
The
monies raised by the Purple and Gold Club
are used to support both high school and
middle school sports at Ascension
Catholic. The membership votes to
determine exactly how the funds are used.
